Uses advertised APY
APY already reflects compounding, so the calculator avoids counting compounding twice.

Built for comparisons

How the CD calculator works
The calculator applies the advertised annual percentage yield to your deposit for the selected portion of a year. For a 12-month CD, a $25,000 deposit earning 4.25% APY would earn approximately $1,062.50 if the money remains deposited for the full term.
What this estimate does not include
- Early-withdrawal penalties
- Taxes on interest earnings
- Promotional requirements or membership fees
- Rate changes on variable-rate products
Important: Results are estimates for educational purposes and are not financial advice. Actual earnings can differ because of account terms, withdrawal timing, fees and rounding. Confirm the APY, maturity date and early-withdrawal penalty directly with the financial institution before opening an account.
